Agreed. Not to mention that there have almost been no instances of badminton players being caught doping. Some are saying that it is maybe something to do with stem cell therapy or whatever...hard to say without knowing what the specific drug/compound that triggered it was.

    can every body calm down?

be it LCW or other players, should we watch the matter with the same fair and subjective attitude and wait for the final final official confirmation to make any comments?

Jesus, cannot imagine if it is LD being the centre of this very rumor....

World No.1 shuttler Lee 'fails drug test'

KUALA LUMPUR - Badminton world number one Lee Chong Wei recently failed a drug test, Malaysian media reported late Tuesday, in a claim that sent shockwaves around the nation.

Malaysia's Lee Chong Wei hits a return against China's Lin Dan in their men's singles badminton semi-final match at Gyeyang gymnasium during the 2014 Asian Games in Incheon on September 28, 2014

Malaysia's Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said earlier in the day that an athlete from the country had tested positive for a banned substance.

He declined to name the person because further tests were ongoing.

But The Star newspaper reported on its website that it was Lee and that he had failed a random test at the World Badminton Championships in Copenhagen in late August.

The Badminton World Federation declined to comment, saying its anti-doping regulations required confidentiality, while the Badminton Association of Malaysia and other sports officials could not immediately be reached for comment.

Lee, 31, is a national icon in the Southeast Asian nation and has consistently topped the badminton rankings, despite having failed to win a world or Olympic title.

Malaysians took to social media to express their disbelief, and support for Lee.

"There must be a reason. We have to lend him all our support Malaysian!" one user wrote on Twitter.

Khairy said in a statement that the country's anti-doping agency was informed in a letter from the international sports federation on October 1 of the failed doping test in an international tournament.

He added that the athlete had submitted another sample for further tests, the results of which were still pending. He gave no indication of when the final results would be known.

Khairy said he had asked top sports officials to undertake "a thorough investigation" of all the medical treatment that Lee had received.

If the results come back positive, it would mark Malaysia's second doping scandal in recent months.

Earlier this month, the head of the Wushu Federation of Malaysia resigned to take responsibility after Asian Games champion Tai Cheau Xuen tested positive for doping and was stripped of her gold medal.

In Copenhagen, Lee lost to China's Chen Long in the final.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

As much we are all surprised, there is no better time for us to gather all our moral support to Dato' regardless of what is the current situation is as i am fully confident and believe that he is not that stupid to willingly take any banned substance to enhance his performance as any human being in this world who knows and love badminton recognised that he is one of the best player and physically, his nemesis need to be in his best as well to beat him.

He is by himself actually is walking performance enhancer in a humanoid form that can at any point of time while playing generate continuous amount of speed and strength. He is one of the most fittest player (in fact maybe the fittest) and i don't see any reason for him to endure huge trouble just to enhance something that he is already best in what he is doing.

Sample B is still in the process of investigation :-

"Khairy said in a statement that the country's anti-doping agency was informed in a letter from the international sports federation on October 1 of the failed doping test in an international tournament.

He added that the athlete had submitted another sample for further tests, the results of which were still pending. He gave no indication of when the final results would be known."

IF sample B is also positive, i still believe that as Malaysia Sports Minister, Khairy said, there should be an investigation on the substance used in all of his treatment :-

"Khairy said he had asked top sports officials to undertake "a thorough investigation" of all the medical treatment that Lee had received".

Even at this point if the B sample were to be positive, i still fully confident that if there is any form of consumption, Dato' does not aware about it and i would blame his physician or nutritionist or physiotherapist or whoever is managing him medically that they should primarily knew very well what substance that should and should not be consume by him. No doubt Dato' as well should take an effort to educationally knows what are the things that is prescribe or given to him but if he is also going to painstakingly go through everything then Dato might as well create another career as a nutritionist as well as a doctor that has his own clinic while still playing badminton for Malaysia and let MSN with their resources warm the seat and earn easy salary at the end of the month.

Aggressively, if B sample were to be positive, a large scale of investigation should be done and should be lead by the guidance of the Sport Ministry himself since as much as we think that to use banned substance is an ethical way to achieve success, having Dato, one of the greatest National sport icon that has brought huge world recognition to the Malaysia sport industry, having his image tarnished for something that i beleive Dato is a victim in this scenario is a much more bigger lost to Malaysia. Such result can only lead to one conclusion that there is a flaw in the the compliance of protocol or guidelines within the organization/bodies within the national sports level that is managing Dato' well being and if such important icon as Dato' can go through such scenario, if not rectify then this is just a beginning IMHO.

Essentially is saying that LCW's B sample was tested in a Norwegian laboratory and was also tested positive on 21 October. BAM believes that LCW accidentally ingested.

Then talks about some related issues, for example that Li Yongbo and most others do not believe that steroids help performance at all, the lack of players caught 'doping' (Zhou Mi being the only one), and the example of the German table tennis player Dmitrij Ovtcharov, who tested positive for clenobuterol but provided hair samples, which along with the evidence that his teammates' urine samples also contained small quantities thereof to overturn his initial conviction.

Lastly notes that it will be very hard for LCW to avoid a ban for some length of time, and that he may possibly retire from this :crying::crying::crying:

Well for a player in LCW's position, a 2yr ban is effectively lifetime especially as he would miss 2016 OG

I believe the tests cannot lie. Will LCW admit? Most definitely not...the usual denial story will come about when one is caught. And so the LCW chapter will end abruptly. Suggest all LCW fans move on.
