Li-Ning SINGAPORE Open SS 2013 : Day 1 & 2 (18th & 19th June) - Qualifying & R/32

P.V.Sindhu has withdrawn from the tournament.. There is nobody to stop Li xuerui in the top branch till final.

I guess Li will reach finals without any doubt from my side..

Yep.. PVS is better than Saina.. My fan base is slowly shifting towards sindhu now.. No more saina...

ah,i ask again,do u think only PVS can beat li xue rui?:p

as i read, its like u saying only PVS able to stop lxr from reaching final, but too bad she withdraw.
hence li xue rui is unbeatable for u since PVS is not around?

Again a small misunderstanding.... "P.V.Sindhu has withdrawn from the tournament.." This sentence is completely single sentence which does not have anything to do with second one.. I just wanted to inform indian fans over here that PVS has withdrawn.. Second sentence is completely different one.. :). I have nothing to do with it if you mingle both the context and come to a conclusion..:D ..

In the second sentence, I mentioned that there is nobody to stop Li xuerui.. This means, with the form she was having last week, she will be unstoppable by anybodyelse in the draw ... she can move to finals... (unless Yippy and Juliane take revenge for their losses last week).. :D

Ha ha.. Good buddy.. I never ever try to trick anybodyelse unless they themselves got struck into it..:D

But i am good enough to say that Saina and LCW will be remembered forever all around the world although they could not make it big(i mean big tournaments)... You might not have known about the fan base involved for these two players.. ;) .. Though myself is not a big badminton fan ( Die hard fan of cricket) , i used to watch badminton only after Saina's success. :).. I respect all the players including Juliane Schenk for her determination.. But surely i love Wang Yihan very much out of any chinese players.. Now, Sun Yu comes and occupies my brain ;):D ..

who is saina?

Except that...Saina is, as of now, way way out of LCW's league.

Almost all of my friends who don't follow badminton know at least two out of the following three players: LCW, LD, Taufik. None of them has heard of Saina before.

To be fair, none of them has heard of WYH/LXR/whoever else before, and I'd have no qualms if you compared SN with them. But to put her as LCW's equal is...premature, to say the least.

Ha ha.. Saina and LCW both are not in the same category at all(different gender) . Then how can i compare both of them.... First of all.. I have never compared both in anyways. Lol ;) .. Please correct me if i am wrong.. Have i compared anywhereelse in my previous posts about LCW's achievements to Saina's achievements.. ??

But you can't say either that Saina and LCW would be forgotten as a whole when they got retired.. If somebody says so, i have full rights to say that Saina will be remembered even after they got retired..

Note: Your interpretation is completely non-synch...I never ever compared both of them.. I just replied to a person who said that Saina and LCW will be out of everybody's mind once they both get retired..:)

Instead of talking about SO here, it's more about who is able to beat who.

Btw, where is Jimmy Goh?

You have been saying implied comments then dancing out of them for the whole of this thread, highly entertaining :D. Without going into it too much LCW will be remembered for sure, Saina may not be remembered big chance especially if P.V comes along and gets the bigger titles, she will be the remembered one for this generation.

The Li-Ning Singapore Open, which begins on Tuesday at the Singapore Indoor Stadium, has been hit by a string of player withdrawals.

A total of 10 new withdrawals were announced during a team managers' meeting at Swissotel the Stamford on Monday.

Among them: Indonesian men's singles players Simon Santoso, Sony Dwi Kuncoro, Dionysius Hayom Rumbaka, women's singles players Ratchanok Intanon of Thailand and P.V. Sindhu of India, as well as China's women's doubles pair and top seeds Wang Xiaoli and Yu Yang.

This comes after the withdrawal of China's badminton superstar Lin Dan, who announced earlier this month that he would be giving the week-long tournament a miss.

(It seems the Singapore Open suffers from the tight BWF scheduling. It comes closely after the completion of the Thailand Open GPG and the just concluded Indonesian Open SSP. Being the most highly prized tournament in terms of value, the Indonesian Open attracted most of the best players and some of them, especially those that are mentioned in this report, may be too fatigued or injured to play in the Singapore Open.
Let's hope those who are featured wil give us a good show. :D)

To have back to back tournament in the same area is excellent for players coming from far away. It is then worth to take the plane and suffer the jet lag. Considering this, I think the Danes' absence is disappointing. I like to see JOJ and Vithingus and the young Axelson.
I think badminton players put to much emphasis on training.

You must be joking... The upper half of the draw is much stronger then the lower half

The draw for ws and ms looks strong to me should be a good tournament. Would be nice to see JOJ but the other two would not make any impact at the mo. Doubt China MS will be too happy with all their guys in the same half. With an off form Kashyap and boonsak the lower half is wide open, should be interesting.

Yes, I think you are right for Vit and Axelson. But it is nice to see how they perform and do progress or not. But in any case, they can seldom reach the quarters, thus we don't see them on tv...

They have been entering Axelson in international challenge events instead. You can get some recent games of his here http://www.youtube.com/user/BadmintonEuropeConf/videos
They also have a website and stream live when European tournaments are on.
