It's Sindhu problem. With her current situation, no one can help her but herself. She just needs to kick her own butt and get it moving. She is heavy. Even if you give her the best coach in the world is not going to help. ;)

    Hypothetical Question:
Will a transition to Woman's doubles / Mixed doubles be possible & easy ?.
If yes, why not do it, rather than declining in WS?.

I think Sindhu is finished at a top WS player, either she retires or moves to double's game.

    Possible yes.

Easy depends on the level of tournament being entered. Some players are naturally orientated to singles - if Sindhu is this type of player, then conversion to top level doubles will be difficult.

My message to Sindhu on her fb. Indian player.

Only you yourself have to push hard. No coaches can help you if you dont work harder.

You seems lethargic. You need a booster. All the skills are there. Its just your will power to get that shot that is lacking. Mental power. Do 15 shots x 21 points drills with high intensity till your heart felt like popping out. 3 sets will help you. Day in day out. That will help you in Og. Are you willing to do the drills?https://www.facebook.com/PVSindhu01?mibextid=ZbWKwL

Thank you extreme for your insights. I agree only she herself has to push hard. But sometimes a coach plays a major role too in supporting / uplifting a player. Let’s see how she does with Prakash Padukone.

Have you all watched some changes in her game after she shifted her base to padukone academy.
Her movements are faster. Strokes are less erratic. Her basic game has improved. Her will power also improved to her best. Yesterday her match against very talented vietnamese player is a proof of it. Vietnamese player has defeated zhang yiman of china in previous round to whom Sindhu has negative h2h record. I thought Sindhu will lose when she lost a game 20-22 and also trailing 14-18 in the 2nd game. But she proved me wrong. I am seeing glimpses of her glorious past. Hope she continue working hard to achieve her lost glory in world circuit.

Sometimes a change of scene is what an athlete needs.

Bengaluru Climate/Coaching is prone to Injuries?..Particularly for people who move from Chennai, Hyderabad Conditions?
Was told, Gopi's method is different-Just play as you feel convenient/ individual style of stroke..So each one has own unique different style of play?
But in Bengaluru, they want to practice one pattern?. Will try to change style of play..So player(muscle memory) will get confuse?

Sindhu does not have no proper footwork/technical strokes etc.. but with her strengths: Smash, Pace & Stamina... got 2 medals!

Saina Nehwal got injured & returned back..

But more data to be collected to validate this..

At this juncture, it is more of like strategic and physical improvement than changing style. I think Padukone is the one who asked her whether he can give coaching . She was down and kept changing her coaches at that point.

    This isn't tennis.
Doubles isn't a compensation for players who outgrew their singles career. What brings you to this ridiculous conclusion?
Besides PVS is far from "finished", while she may never match CYF's footwork again or be as hungry as ASY (having won quite a lot already) she's still got all the skills and abilities.
It's often difficult for athletes to bring back motivation when they've already done well in their career and are suddenly having issues with their fitness.

If she wants it, I don't see her not doing well.

Changing coaches is her favourite pass time now. Besides the loads of money she made from the advertisement.

Time to move on. Even Prakash can't help her. Need a miracle. Am sure she will say, there is a miracle.

Just now, I was on my back to my home from Delhi Cantt Railway station, I saw PV Sindhu Indoor Stadium in cantt premises. Felt so proud to see her name, getting recognised and felicitated to the extent that a player who hasn’t retired yet got a well deserved recognition from Armed Forces.
