Well... until yesterday, Kido has not apologized to Hendra. Hendra still upset with him. Not talking much [if any at all]. If this pair can still win AE or Swiss Open under this condition... then they are really super! But I don't think so...
Sure they need some time to fix things up. Kido left PBSi.Not Hendra.Literally. It's a lost if they will never come back as the same precious pair ever again.
i hope hendra is wise enough to forgive kido..i know that he (kido) has been rude to left hendra uninformed abt the contract problem etc, but well nobody's perfect..just by forgiving sincerely (and kido has to first apologize sincerely too) the chaos will be over.
Correction, Kido left the INA National Team. He did not leave Persatuan Bulutangkis Seluruh Indonesia [PBSI]. As long as he still plays as an INA player. He has not left PBSI. Tony Gunawan has left PBSI. Taufik, Candra, Flandy, Vita, Kido... never left PBSI!
Hmm.. ..certainly not the news our badMania is looking to hear, considering they are just 1 AE title away from completing their trifecta of winning arguably the 3 most prestigious baddy titles.. ..you meant to write "Kido left the INA National Team, for a couple of days, but is now back with the team"?? (the way you wrote it, it sounds like he's really left the national team..
Kido/HS still lack of 5 more titles to complete the GRAND SLAM, namely 1) ALL ENGLAND 2) SS FINAL 3) ASIAN GAMES 4) THOMAS CUP 5) ABC Hopes they determine to win ALL those titles above & being the greatest MD ever in Badminton history..
fyi, Kido and Markis is the winner of Asian Badminton Championship 2005, they bt Jung Jae Sung/ Lee Jae Jin in final.
For individual titles, Kido/Hendra lack 2 titles (All-England and Asian Games Individual Event). For team event, they still lack the Sudirman Cup, Thomas Cup, and Asian Games Team Event.
As for SS FINAL... they have to wait. But im happy that KKK/TBH is the first winner of MDs in this event.
Don't tell that.. ..to the other legendary players, like Rudy Hartono, Tang Xianhu, Eddy Choong who never won the Olympics and/or the World Championships. However, i can somewhat agree that winning the prestigious All-England should be considered a big-time achievement for a baddy athlete.
I agree that Thomas Cup and Sudirman Cup should be considered one of the pinnacles of success of a badminton player... Asian Games Team... mmm... this one to me is not as highly sought by the players...
THere were no SS Finals in those days, or even a tourney categorised as SS . There have some discussions about the "diluted" quality of 2008 SS Finals, as you know. So, we're left with the 4 Grand slams : 1) OG 2) WC 3) AE 4) AG (individual). MK/Hendra had won two, have 2 more to go FOr Team, yup, Thomas Cup & Surdirman Cup are the biggies.
We can track back history of AE till the beginning of 20th century, while the other one was begun, er, last year (after canceled several times).
Well.. ..you're trying to tease the many BCers in here, who were yapping up abt the SS Masters Finale, eh??.. ..oh, there used to be the Grand Prix Finale tourney also, in the 90s (til it ceased to exist in the late 90s). I'd say it's almost equal to that of the SSM Finale. Anyway, the point is what is the oldest & only remaining badminton tourney that has survived since the beginning of its inception??.. As for the other team competitions, well, yes, they are important, too. But as mentioned many times before: 1. They are a team competition, not individual competition like the OG, WC and AE. 2. The outcome might or might not be determined by a specific player or pair. So, Markis & Hendra's outcome in their match might or might not have any effect on the final outcome.
i'd definitely say that the AE is more prestigious than the SS Finals. just by looking at player attendances for the 2 events should be evidence enough.
