I don't really know what I'd write. What do you want to know?

It's OK - I've got you covered. I can't shut up during a racket review, as everybody knows...

    - Headweight in g?
    - Quickness compared to JS10 4U and some BS?
    - How stable is the head?
    - How stiff is the shaft compared with a popular racket?
    - Dampened feel?
    - From which racket are you coming?
    - Long/short handle?

Mine is on its way - nearly went for a YYS, but was warned off it.

(No yellow towel grips, though... why is it that there are never any yellow:mad:).

Had a quick hit with the YYS today - the Ahmad feels much stiffer to me to play with so should suit you much better.

YYS defo suits me more - looking forward to doing a head to head vs my JS10

Ahmad has the same shaft techs as the JS10, but it's thicker, so I would expect it not to bend as easily.

(I may end up thanking you for snatching that last YYS away... our mutual friend doesn't think much of it.)

Ha ha - yeah but he also prefers the the JS10KRP! I had one and sold it within a week as found it no where near as good for me as the 4U!!

If we all liked the same racket manufacturers would only need to make one model!!

One session in, and I know exactly what Paul was taling about with regard to feel - it's got a brilliant steel-pipe whack to it.

Mark - I told you it's a great racket! There is so much good in the Ahmad. It should be hugely popular and I guess the only reason why it's not is that players don't buy signature rackets as often. Being honest, Ahmad i simply not a big enough name in Europe, especially in the UK.

In terms of balance and movement it really reminded me of the old Meteor JJS, but it's pretty stiff - 7.0 Pyrofil shaft, so that's expected.

I've bagged a 3U YYS to try it against... another racket that probably won't make it over here:(.

What was it exactly that made you prefer the standard 4U version to the 3U KRP? I am currently thinking about adding a 3U KRP to my standard 4U hoping to get a bit more beef without losing too much speed, especially for singles matches.

There Seems to be a group of you who have done part or all of:

Jjs to tk9k for more power
Tk9k to js10 for more speed
Js10 to ahmad for more power.

Am I making that up? And if ahmad is like the jjs then you've gone full circle :)
Or is it just that they are similar but there's new tech, different feel etc?

Good observation. For me this is my bag contents:
    5 JJS (3U)
    1 TK 9000 (3U)
    3 JS10 (4U)

I still use the JJS as my goto/tournament racket (Singles, Doubles and Mixed). I would buy more JJS if I could.

I'd go back to a JJS just because I loved it. What I didn't love was the 80 hole stringing pattern.

How would you rate it, stiffness-wise? I was considering it, but with all the comparos with the JJS, I'm pretty sure it would be too demanding for me. There are just certain rackets that aren't particularly accessible for someone at my age (44) and level (B grade club) and the JJS is definitely one of those 'pro' feeling rackets that I just can't get the best out of.

    I've just gotten a 3U Ahmad strung with Gosen G-Tone 9 @ 26lbs.

I was reading in the Jetspeed YYS thread about the diffused feeling of the Ahmad when the shuttle makes contact with the string bed.

Is the feeling whereby one can feel a slight drag on the string bed before the shuttle flies off? This is especially true when I try to do flat drives and pushes.

The only time when I experienced this was with the Nanoray Z-Speed.

Anyone else had a similar experience?

Trying to determine if it's an issue with the Ahmad or the setup of the string.
