    Ayl,

Who is your supplier? The shuttle market is diverse, whith many small players,
Snowpeak, RSL and Aeroplane (and to some extent Carlton?) are a few going round Melbourne.

The history with Epsilon goes back to days suppling shuttles, tracksuits to Badminton Australia as part of Sponsorship. Former Australian No 1 Singles player,
Murray Hocking was contracted to Epsilon as a player, and now works for them.

Former Australian No 1 Ladies Doubles player Rhonda Cator was a Carton agent, don't know if she still is.

    As far as I know:

    For RSL and Aeroplane try
    Ko Beng

In Sydney they have Josan Arrow 300, Aeroplane and swallow.
    You can tryAndrew

In Brisbane they have Yang Yang and Yonex
    You can trySunrise Sports

    Regards
    Stuart

    Hi,
In Ho Chi Minh City, we use Hai Yen shuttlecocks: Green/red and Yellow/red brand. Very cheap about $50,ooo/- Dong and $45,ooo/- Dong respectively. Both are not durable. Just can last the most a game.(USD$1/- equals to $15,900/-Dong.).

Haha Same hear 'Epsilon 808(yellow)' sometimes green606 but they fluff up quikly and slow down......not as durable as the yellow 808s

mmmm......Maybe we should start a buisness importing shuttles to Aus?:D

Epsilons are ok but not the best for price and durabilitie and flight.

Now i use: Sea Lion C1101 (black label) and Aeroplane SG1130

Some of our club members are now using RSL Tourney no.1 for $18.50/tube.

For the past 2 weeks, I have been using the following:

    Aeroplane Red (speed 78)
    RSL # 1 (78)
    RSL # 1 (77)
    Victor Blue (78)

I can say that RSL # 1’s quality has improved while Victor Blue has gone down.
RSL # 1 (77) was too slow for our gym.

We are switching over to RSL # 1 (78) for sure. Also, the price was lowest for RSL.

My opinions of the RSL #1 agree with those of roby2003. The quality of the RSL Tourney #1 are very consistent and are better then those of the Victor Blue (which i find have gone down and are a little inconsistent in quality).

A club member bulk ordered the Sea Lion Blacks from Yo's (we ordered 100 tubes i think). Yo's even made a personal delivery to our club. It was rather nice of him.

The speed of the birds we use are 77. At the moment, i find the Aeroplane SG1130 a tad bit better then the Sea Lion Black and are a bit cheaper then the RSL birds. I love the RSL birds..but the problem is that they are based in montreal (have to take shipping to account). But fortunately our club organizer has good relations with them.

I don't own a car (live and work downtown). When i got my 50 tubes of Aeroplane birds (bulk order for me and 3 others) i had to go pick it up (uptown at fairview mall - don mills ttc station). carrying a large box on the subway and streetcar was a bit of a hassle.. but the Aeroplane Rep was very accomodating and i think it was worth it. I would definately do business with him again.

based on my own preference of the birds i tried:

    RSL Tourney #1 > Aeroplane SG1130 > Sea Lion C1101 > Victor Blue

I tried Sosan birds briefly when i was in vancouver (thanks PeteLSD). They are somewhere between aeroplane and sg1130 and above victor blue.

However for the price:durability ratio...it's RIGHT UP there!! I think the sosan rep is in Kingston. You may want to contact them.

    ok i'm wrong..just checked...but here's the site:

thanks anyway. I still have 2 tubes of victor blue before I have to buy some more. sea lion C1101 does last a long time. when I'm playing at the club, we ussually only use 1 birds per game (with the ussual steaming before the game). we're not too picky, playing with feather is a treat, so a little wobble sometime is being ignored :) (as long as the feathers are intact). last night I got 2 games out of one bird  ...a lot less smashing more drops and net play.

I play with either Sosan greens (the club grade) or Level Skyline white.
    That's what I play with, but what I prefer? Yonex AS-50 :D

Nice to see you like RSL shuttles, do you know you can buy RSL shuttles in some of the clubs in Toronto?

I find almost all the shuttles' quality are going down. Victor Champion is not as good as before, same is the Yonex AS-20. RSL shuttles went down not as much as them. Sealion, I am not sure recently, need to check out next time I go to Toronto.

OK, I have some stuffs to complain about to victor reps/dealer in this forum. I have a brand new victor tourney (blue, not no. 1) speed 78, which intended for 18-23 C. I've steamed them. the 1st one is OK, but still too fast (speed 77 don't really shows any different, and it's quiet rare to get speed 76 or 75 in canada). the 2nd and third one out of the tube was horrible:( . It's like a little torpedo (flies like speedminton shuttle), too fast; way too fast (my double partner hit a clear and end up about 3/4 way on the other court:eek: ). I play in a local club which uses a highschool gym (6 court, decent but not superb). we gotta tipped it out to reduce the speed.

Any possibility that the wrong steaming method could cause this? or just plain wrong speed for the wrong temp. that crazy speed happen to my speed 77 sea lion C1101...

It just something I want to rant about...since it cost me $22 a tube...

Victor Blue 78 sold in Canada are generally one speed faster - 79. The bird is fine in unheated gym at an ambient temperature of 13 C.
