    I hate luck.
But that's a part of life, I suppose. No uncertainty & absolutism.

On the other note I'm pretty confident fajar/rian would beat ko/shin had they won yesterday, but ofcourse they blew it as usual

I still think fajar/rian is the best INA MD right now, they were in control for the majority of the match yesterday

It has been like this for Kevin this week, playing inaccurate shots, opponent hitting zone, simple net shots. I think he needs to buckle up and train more.

Well, they just have to do better next week. Life cant always be at the top, but they are still WR1. Its up to the pairs to topple their rankings and split them.

I always feel that KSS is a bit overrated, he's very error prone and he's not really a smart player like his senior setiawan

They’re fortunate they won it in straight games…Ko looked totally gassed at the end of G2.

Age factor (Gideon is getting older), the pandemic (Kevin got Covid-ed) and no tourneys for more than 1 year.
Plus, they got their confidence dented by the 6 straight losses to Endo/Watanabe in 2019-2020.
Personally, I think the unexpected loss to Chia/Soh in the Olympics QF was a tough one for them to take.

Therefore, there's no other option I feel but to split this pair up!

If the 6 straight losses will make them split , then all the MD pairs will have split.
    The Olympic I agree though.
Who is the longest MD pairs? Boe/Mo and AhsanHendra i suppose. If Mo is still healthy, i'm sure he will still play and be top 8. Will they split because they didnt get medals in OG/WC? Well, as long as they are still winning titles.

Let's see how they perform until the end of the season. splitting the pair isnt as easy as breaking up with girlfriend or wife i suppose.

Tbh i thought today's win was a combination of good form and good run this week.

But i doubt they can consistently maintain this current form/play and rise to the ranking during their heydays.

that's just who kevin is, he's a moody player...even when they won 7-8 titles in a year he had moments where he simply played like **** but still win because gideon was very steady

Yeah his face today look like has many thoughts. They can easily play long rallies with KoShin instead of how they play today.

Well maybe its good that they loss. Then there will be discussions. As long as they dont lose in R1/R2.

They are independent players, meaning that they are not directly under the control of the Korean National Badminton Federation.

Similar case with Goh Liu Ying and Chan Peng Soon from Malaysia, who are Malaysia's best pair in the Mixed Doubles discipline but didn't play in the Sudirman Cup due to being independent players...

But I agree, having Ko/Shin and any combination of Lee Yong Dae, Kim Gi Jung and Yoo Yeon Seong would have improved their chances by quite a bit for the Thomas Cup.

(Btw, Yoo Yeon Seong and Kim Gi Jung recently won the Korean National Championships against LYD and Choi Sol Gyu in the final. Would love to see Yoo back on the international circuit, he still has the skills to play at a high level in this currently rather weak MD era)
