My Yonex Armortec 900 Power stringed issue I recently got my Yonex Armortec 900 Power stringed at SportChek. I am not sure whether this guy stringed my badminton racket correctly or not. The guy (techician) told me that he has stringed the racket correctly according to the US badminton assoication book that he has. I have included some pictures. Feedback would be great.
Definitely wrong. The outside main strings should be straight upwards not inwards like yours. They must of used the stringing method for older rackets without the new grommet system.
I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba. I went to the one at St. Vital SportChek. I knew there was something wrong with the stringing that he did and didn't look right. But anyways I do appreciate all your responses. I went back to ask for a refund but he told me he could refund the labour cost only (16.80 with tax). He told me not to come back again because he thinks he did the stringing correctly. But I definitely will not come back there again for stringing.
to squeeze 2 strings through an one pass grommet could damage those grommets and maybe the racket itself because they have poke it with an awl. Still, i don't know how they can do it, coz i can't jam 2 strings thru those tiny holes.
I just removed the strings on my racket couple of hours ago in case anymore damage. The guy has been stringing rackets for 10 years he said (which I am not sure about now).
ouch! he might have been doing stringing for tennis rackets only before! please do check the grommets and make sure they are ok, before have it restrung. you should definitely find another stringer.

Stringing racquets for 10 years? It could be tennis and squash racquets for 10 years. Badminton racquets are alittle more delicate. The litany of wrong done to badminton racquets by retail chain stringers increases, hopefully your tale is read by many more players so more racquets can be saved.
I got my spare racquet strung at sportchek, just to see how they did before i took my main one there. glad i did, they bent and chipped the frame
I learned my lesson. I don't recommend SportChek for stringing to anybody. Waste of money or they even damage your racket.
sorry to hear all these horror stories. Yonex shouldn't ok dealership to sportchek if yonex want to keep their reputation.
I think it is okay for SportChek to sell Yonex products there but they really should discontinue there horrible stringing service.
If this guy actually did reference to the book, he must be referring the traditional pattern, which does not have single gromment on the top half of the racket. Clearly, he did not reference to the correct new patterns.
I always had my racket strung at Londonderry SportChek ( since i work there too -_- ) I'll post some pics of the string job done on it. I believe it is the right pattern
