wrt the stringing shown... OMG, they really managed to get a lot of string in there. That is the most dense (pun intended) string job I've seen.
Wow, that stringing on the AT-900P is horrifying to the eye!! I'm sure even non-badminton players can tell it was not strung properly. Look at the space differences in between strings from the top and the centre/bottom.
*Applauds awesome pun* I know, surely it must've occurred to the stringer at some point that it didn't look right?
The Arc 7 above seems correct apart from the 1-piecedness, but it's probably 10% down from the specified tension because of the bent crosses - set off, dammit, it only takes a few minutes. That 900P, though... it should be unbelievable, but I got a fake 900P through eBay that was strung EXACTLY like this, and it had WAX on it. Going from badminton-only stringing to include tennis (as I did) seems to be a LOT safer than going the other way... (Btw, round of applause for the "dense" pun)
lol yea the AT900 looks nasty -_- Well, I asked for my Arc 7 to be strung at 24 (Max) but I like it at around 22. So even if I loss 10%, it would be fine =) Plus for 8$, I think its well worth it
Yeah, I agree, the Arc 7, although not strung with the correct Yonex pattern could be much, much worse, especially considering where you got it strung at.
I ask this question feeling like I know the answer, but are Sportchek or the other members of the cast of this dreadful thread accredited by anything like the USRSA? Have they even bothered to invent an accrediting body? I think sth like this should be REQUIRED for stringers, so cowboys can't take bread from the mouths of those of us who take it seriously...
Stringing I am a member at VRC and have used Abbies to string my raquet for 10 years. They are always good and quick. (It also helps that they are right around the corner from the club on Main street 'cause the VRC shop sucks). Never trust your racquet to Sport Check, it is some 16 year old kid who has never been trained. I have never had my racket strung anywhere elso so I cant comment on other stores Hope it helps
Which sportchek did you go to? I'm in calgary too i got an old racket strung at the market mall sportchek, I was impressed!
Lucky for you guys, that some of the people who do it have been trained. My coworker at sportchek luckly have been trained well and he showed me how to string rackets. I've been doing my own and some other friend's for the past 4 months.
Hello, I was wondering if you can guide me where you purchase your strings from? I am tired of buying them for $8-$9 i was thinking of buying 10-15 of them and keeping them so I dont have to pay large sum of money for just the string.
Any suggestions where I can buy them from?I dont string them myself. But I get it strung by this guy. He charges me $12 per string so I was hoping to rather give him 1 pack string to string my racquet and pay for the labour. Any ideas or suggestions?
